My Curriculum Vitae

1955 - Came into the world on the 3rd. of December as Bronwyn Elizabeth Coffin

1973 - Completed HSC at Koonung High School, Melbourne, Victoria

1974-1976 - Studied at RMIT and completed an Associate Diploma of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing.

1976 - Participated in and helped organise an exhibition by final year students from RMIT "Vanguard" – at the Opportunists Gallery - Eltham, Victoria.

1974-76 - Worked Part time for Lazlo Puzsar Jewellery Design in the city (The French Jewel Box) and at his Melbourne Airport retail Outlet.

1976-77 Toured Europe, Wales and England for 3 months with fellow Designer Ken Gray. Then spent the next 9 months in the studio prducing private commission work as well as working as "honourable secretary" for a Japanese Import/Export Firm- TOKYO BOEKI in Melbourne.

1978 - Studied at State College of Victoria- Hawthorn Campus and completed Diploma of Education - base school was Knox Technical College

1979-1983 - Art and Design Year levels 7-10, as well as a Jewellery Design component for Year 10 at Syndal Technical School, Melbourne

During this time I was also Partner in a Contemporary Jewellery / Fine Art Gallery -Works II, in The Basin, with Robyn Holtham ( a fellow graduate from RMIT)

1983-1993 - Family Leave from Education Department – produced 3 children

Emergency Teaching at Mooroolbark Technical School and Syndal Technical School in Art and Design

Participated in Sunday Hawthorn Town Hall Markets

Participated in Knox Festival for 13 years

Entered a piece into the Fantasy section of the Gown of the Year 1993

1991 -Taught Jewellery making at the Templestowe Art Centre

1992- Won the Craft Award with Chris Jeffrey at the Australian Gown of the Year

1993 - Taught Art/ Design and Metalwork at Lawrence College and then had the "pleasure" in closing down a wonderful Technical School- no thanks to Jeff Kennet!!

1994 - Taught Art/Design at Glen Waverley Secondary College Campus and Syndal Campus.

1995-1996 - Taught Art/Design and Woodwork at GWSC - Syndal Campus and once again was given the "pleasure" in closing down another school!!

1996-2003 - Taught Materials Technology/Systems Electronics/Cad Design at GWSC – Science and Technology Building

Participated in with students and won awards at the Science Works Solar Boat and Car Competitions with students in Year 8 and 9 at Glen Waverley Secondary College, Melbourne Victoria

1999-2004 - STARS – Spiders in Space Team Coordinating Teacher GWSC

2003-2004 - On leave without pay from Education Department

Currently Running Jewellery Studio and Tuition from home.

Undertaking commission work and supplying Galleries with Jewellery

2004- Formally Resigned from Education Department NOW I AM FINALLY FREE!!

2005 - October - Won Knox U3A Art & Craft Exhibition - Best Exhibit Award - $500.00 prize

Became a Fellow of the Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia #100

2006- October- Participated in the Flinders Ranges "A Brush with Art" Exhibition at Wild Lime Gallery - Blinman

- November -Organised and participated in "Colours" Exhibition at Fresh Gallery, Brunswick Street, Fitzroy

2009 - Bronwyn is elected as the President of The Gold & Silversmiths'Guild of Australia.

2010 - Bronwyn opens her own Gallery in San Remo, Victoria - which is on the way to Phillip Island. She will be teaching her Jewellery Skills Classes in the Gallery workshop from May 2010.
